straight ahead records and promotions and the tecopa hot springs resorts announced today that soul singer legendary recording artist moody scott will be celebrating his 50th year music anniversary in senic serene and beautiful tecopa ca this star studded event will feature the long awaited release of his hot new cd titled going back to my roots which will feature some of his earlier classic soul recordings which today is widely sort after from avid r&b soul music collectors around the world. as well as some gospel r&b funk and contempory blues and delta blues along with new material. food will be provided by chef john famous pastels bistro and a taste of louisiana creole cajun foods of southwest louisiana moodyscott is a former louisiana native who now resides in the entertainment capitol of las vegas nevada . this once in a lifetime hisorical event will be held saturday may 3rd from 12:00 noon until. and will feature a starstudded lineup of some of the finest entertainers, performers and live bands seen anywhere. on hand to help celebrate moodys musical mile stone of 50 years within the american music entertainment and recording industry.moody will celebrate his 70th birthday on janurary 28th 2014 he recorded his frist recording in the year 1964 and became a part of early soul music history through his association with rock n roll hall of fame inductees jerry leiber & mike stoller of red bird daisy records new york .the song was titled "everybody come clap your hands" written by songwriters and music hall of fame inductees ellie greenwhich& jeff barry .this classic song featured the background vocals of the famous new orleans dixie cups the b side of the recording titiled the "monkey climb" was co written by moody and new orleans recording artist joe "you talk too much jones' .moody took everybody come clap your hands to a much higher musical level from the early doo wop sound of the 50s to a more advanced sound of the sixties with the musical influences of the great soul singers wilson pickett and bobby freeman. moody only recorded one single record with leiber & stoller after he departed leiber& stoller moody went national with the release of his proto funk driven frist anti drug abuse song in america titled "busting out of the ghetto' released in 1969 on the fred foster monument sound stage seven record label out of music city nashville tenn produced by hall of fame radio broadcast personality johnrichbough of powerful 50,000 watt radio station wlac nashville busting out of the ghetto was cowritten by moody along with musicians ted roberson and talented keyboardist rickey williams this classic soul r&b rendition featured james brown the god father of soul bassist at that time the legendary tim drummond who during this period he was featured on hits from neil young , rye cooder ,and legendary bob dylan besides tim drummond on bass it featured the awesome talents of sax player musician pee wee ellis along with the world famous muscle shoals horn section .senic serene and breath taking tecopa hot springs ca resorts is located 95 miles from las vegas 50 miles from baker ca and just 30 miles from parump nevada.
