Author Matt Hader Travels West Bound in New Novelette

With the roll-out of the novelettes, fans of the book have the opportunity to learn more about what some of their favorite characters were doing before the novel began, what they were doing when they weren’t on the page, and what happened after the book ended.

Inspired by Matt’s childhood experiences, Bad Reputation is an emotionally compelling dark comedy about the struggle to find one’s identity after a lifetime of societal ostracization.

In the novel, the ever-affable Dwayne Bowling confessed to crimes that he didn’t commit so he could return to his true home: prison.

West Bound takes place two days after Dwayne’s incarceration. Dwayne is released from prison when police learn he falsified evidence. Once free, Dwayne discovers that his long-lost love may have been kidnapped. He sets out to rescue her, and in doing so, struggles to overcome not only the repercussions from past criminal indiscretions, but also his own recidivist urges.
