SIMI VALLEY, Calif. - Dec. 12, 2013 - PRLog -- SIMI VALLEY, CALIF.--The Simi Valley Family YMCA provides swim lessons and other aquatics programs year round. It is currently looking for young adults to staff its winter swim classes and lifeguards to ensure everyone is safe in and around the pool.

Lifeguards must be 18 years or older with CPR and AED (automated external defibrillator) certification. First aid and lifeguard training is preferred. Training and certification classes will be provided to swim instructors and lifeguards without all the required certifications.

"Because our pool is heated and indoors, the Y offers swim classes throughout the year, even in winter," says Andrea Isbell, Simi Y's aquatics director. "Instructors are responsible for teaching young swimmers water safety and swimming techniques. Since we have all kinds of aquatics classes for young and old taking place daily, we require lifeguards on duty at all times."

Shifts are available in the mornings, afternoons and evenings and can be designed to work around school schedules.

For more information, contact Andrea Isbell at 805-583-5338, ext. 236, aisbell@simiymca.org.
