PHOENIX - Dec. 12, 2013 - PRLog -- Dr. Nima Salari, MD, Desert Institute For Spine Care (DISC), Phoenix was recently interviewed by The Western Medical Journal on the benefits of minimally invasive Endoscopic Surgery for those suffering from spinal degeneration.

'The benefits of minimally invasive surgery are that you have smaller incisions, quicker recovery, less blood loss, you are able to have this procedure performed on an outpatient basis and not require inpatient stay and get back to work earlier. But  you have to have the right candidate." Dr. Salari explained.

"The goal of the surgery is to either alleviate pain or neurologic compromise or stabilize things or basically perform some sort of realignment of the spine to relieve the symptoms the patient is experiencing.  Sometimes you may be able to accomplish that with the minimally invasive approach and sometimes you have to use the more traditional techniques" he elaborated.

Dr. Salari also explains how endoscopic surgery is performed and why those who are eligible will experience a shorter recovery period.
