Windmill Pointe Brewing To Host First-ever Mobile Brewing Event

DETROIT - Dec. 12, 2013 - PRLog -- For the first time in nearly three decades a beer will be brewed on the grounds of Detroit’s Eastern Market. The historic event is the brainchild of brothers Shawn and Aaron Grose of Windmill Pointe Brewing Company. During the event, the brothers will reveal another first: a brewing method in which the energy source is one hundred percent “off-the-grid.”

“Detroit has a tremendous brewing history that has long been forgotten”, stated Shawn Grose of Windmill Pointe Brewing. “And since our brewing system is completely mobile and requires no power from the grid, we felt there was no better way to pay tribute to Detroit’s brewing history than to brew at Detroit’s beloved marketplace: Eastern Market”.

The brother’s will demonstrate Windmill Pointe Brewing’s Pedal-Powered brewing system on December 19 during Eastern Market’s Third Thursdays market from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Windmill Pointe’s “first-of-its kind” brewing system is powered by energy produced from stationary bicycles. During the brewing session, patrons of Eastern Market’s Third Thursday are invited to participate in brewing the historic brew and generate some energy.

Shawn and Aaron Grose see Windmill Pointe’s Brewing Mobile Brewing Event at Eastern Market as one of many planned brewing sessions to take place in Detroit until the Brother’s can lock down a permanent location for their nano-brewery. “Our long-term vision is to secure a permanent location within the Detroit area. We see ourselves playing a large role in the community where we will eventually end up.
