Cote Entertainment partners with Madhouse Entertainment on Science Fiction Thriller

LOS ANGELES - Dec. 12, 2013 - PRLog -- Canadian filmmaker Brent Cote is bringing aliens to life in his upcoming feature film, SELECTION in recent producing partnership between his company Cote Entertainment and Cantina Creative along with Madhouse Entertainment. The concept is catching fire around Hollywood, with buzz surrounding the secrecy of the plot.

The script was written by Brent Cote and America Young and is being helmed by Cote and plot details have not been released. The gritty science fiction thriller is based on a proof of concept short film Cote directed in 2013 and is a potential franchise.

According to Cote, "The themes we are addressing are universal and the mythology we are creating lends itself to an ongoing story beyond the first film. We are telling a closed ended story, thought. We aren't setting it up for a cliffhanger. If the sequel evolves organically, which we believe it will, we will explore the universe further."

This isn't Cote's first script to become a hot commodity in Hollywood. His found footage thriller American Riot is in development with Madhouse producing and action based TV pilot circling various cable networks. Cote is also set to direct the crime drama, Tainted, which he wrote, immediately following Selection.

Production is set for late 2014 and both Cote and Young will be producing along with Cantina and Madhouse. Cote is repped by Madhouse Entertainment and Rothman Brecher Agency and Young is repped by Luber Roklin Entertainment.
