New Book by: Phil Scrima, titled: The Stranger and the Time Machine, Volume 1

Phil Scrima Combines Adventure and Philosophy In a New Action Packed Sci-Fi The Stranger and the Time Machine, volume 1 Reveals Insights into Human Society.

Dec. 10, 2013 - PRLog -- Award winning author Phil Scrima announced the release of his first book in a series of science fiction novels bringing both adventure and philosophy together in an action packed storyline.

Through the technique of smaller stories within a larger, science fiction framework, Scrima gives a wide range of readers a book that is accessible and exciting. The Stranger, as a former Marine, allows the stories to move toward a more military-style narrative rather than traditional science fiction.

“I have always enjoyed science fiction stories,” Scrima said during a recent interview with Pacific Book Review.  “It occurred to me that many of these books and movies do not get into the element of how these beings evolved and think.  With each mission, the Stranger progresses from a mortal human to almost a god-like creature.”

Phil Scrima has a different belief to the commonly used superhero character battling the evil elements.  “I believe if advanced beings do exist, they would not be violent but compassionate and willing to assist in the survival of other worlds and intelligent beings,” said the author.

The future, described by Scrima is one where he feels the human race should have eliminated illiteracy, hunger, poverty, greed, crime, and racism.  “Wars, hate between religions and humans killing our own species should not exist in this day and age,” he continued   “Imagine if all the nations of the world combined what they spend on wars, crimes, and drugs and diverted that to the common good for humanity and the world.  We could feed the world!  Most diseases would be eliminated; life expectancy doubled, and possibly we would have colonized the moon and Mars.  Who knows?  Maybe we would be traveling beyond our solar system?  Before this can be done you need to eradicate greed, crime, poverty, hate, and dominance by the few over the populace.”

These are idyllic concepts and readers are both educated while being entertained.  Phil Scrima's book is interesting in its combination of a science fiction framework and military-style missions.

The Stranger and his strong moral basis as well as masculine character will surely find fans among readers of all kinds.
