If they were smart they would announce to the world that they are changing the way they do business. This change would benefit dog trainers and clients alike. If one dog trainer could provide a client with all their training needs, they wouldn’t look anywhere else. It would ignite the dog training world and have people knocking down the doors to get in.

It is trail blazers that make real change in the world. Trail blazers often get attacked by a market that refuses to see the need to change. In the military they have a saying “If you’re getting flack, you’re right over the target”. “I do not hate dog training franchises or the trainers involved with them. The reason for my stance is because I believe there must be a franchisor out there, who really wants their trainers to excel above all others. Who will clean up the industry and change the way things are done” says Naomi Hunter of Naomi Hunter Consulting.

If just one dog training franchise would implement these changes it would give them dominance over the market. They wouldn’t be able to be touched because of the outstanding way that they do business.

What could they do?

·       Allow their franchise owners to offer a range of dog training techniques, by becoming a one stop shop in the dog training industry. (Techniques that include pain and fear would not be used within the system)

·       Give their franchise owners the ability to run other pet related businesses without having a separate franchise agreement

·       Give their franchisees comprehensive marketing and sales training

·       Offer franchisees a mentoring program

·       Conduct weekly webinars – this helps those who aren’t close to the home office get the support they need

Can you imagine how much this would change the dog training industry? By allowing franchisees flexibility, they are happier and earn more money. When they earn more money so does the franchisor. If just one smart dog training organization did this, they would set the dog training industry ablaze and never look back. Who wouldn’t want to be of a business like that!
