The Oxon Hill Boys & Girls Club Donated Coats to The Women of Shepherds Cove Shelter

OXON HILL, Md. - Dec. 9, 2013 - PRLog -- As we approach the coldest months of the season, the Oxon Hill Boys &Girls Club along with Prince George's County Council Vice Chair Obie Patterson (D) - District 8, made a commitment to keep Prince Georges County residents warm this winter by hosting their 1^st Annual Winter Coat Drive two weeks ago. This past Saturday, they delivered winter coats to the women of Shepherds Cover Women's Shelter in Capitol Heights, MD, during their annual Christmas Party.

"There are too many families in Prince Georges County that have inadequate outerwear," stated Erika Freeman, President of the Oxon Hill Boys & Girls Club. "The women were so appreciative, and knowing that we were able to help people that were truly in need put a smile on all of our faces. We're looking forward to many more days of serving our community."

The Oxon Hill Boys and Girls Club collected over 400 coats with the help of their sponsors, Baller Moms, Dunkin Donuts of Accokeek, MD, J&J Entertainment Group, Outback Steakhouse of Oxon Hill, MD, Titanium Sports & Entertainment, and Kingdom Chics Inc. The remainder of the coats will be distributed to other local shelters in Prince Georges County.
