SANTA ROSA, Calif. - Dec. 9, 2013 - PRLog -- Rodney Strong Vineyards announced their 2013 support for food banks and United Ways across the country.  Annually, Rodney Strong Vineyards works closely with United Way of the Wine Country headquartered in Santa Rosa, CA through event sponsorships and financial contributions to support select food banks and regional United Ways across the country. Rodney Strong has provided over 450,000 meals to people in need across their markets since 2010.

Locally, Rodney Strong’s gift supports the United Way of the Wine Country’s investment in the Sonoma County 2-1-1 Information and Referral Center that connects people quickly and effectively to community, health and disaster services through a free, 24/7 confidential phone line and searchable online database. In 2013, 2-1-1 served over 40,000 residents seeking food banks, housing, utility assistance and other resources.

The funding also supports the Redwood Empire Food Bank, Project Bread, City Harvest in New York, and several United Ways across the country.

“Rodney Strong’s generosity truly makes a difference”, said Mike Kallhoff, President and CEO of United Way of the Wine Country, “Their support is significant as we work to keep services like 2-1-1 available locally, support Food Banks and expand United Way efforts focused on education, financial stability and health. We recognize Rodney Strong Vineyards as Wine Country Community Champions and applaud their work across the country that benefits so many.”
