ELGIN, Ill. - Dec. 8, 2013 - PRLog -- Bystronic introduced new software features to their Laser, Bending and Waterjet product lines during the recent Fabtech International Trade Show in Chicago.

-- New Part ID is a new feature of the Bystronic BySoft 7 CAD/CAM software.  The identification code is generated with BySoft 7 and then laser-engraved onto the part utilizing a Bystronic laser cutting system.  At the press brake, the PartID is subsequently registered by a scanner unit and the desired bending program can be loaded automatically. Parts marked with PartID also provide an excellent means of part traceability.

-- New OPC Interface is installed on Bystronic laser cutting machines and collects information about the manufacturing progress on laser and waterjet cutting systems. The user can transmit this information to his own monitoring systems. The OPC interface provides an important basis to increase the degree of utilization and the efficiency of cutting systems.

-- New Observer is a passive remote monitoring system that keeps the user up to date about the operating status of his systems and about how the processing of orders is progressing. Observer is accessed by means of web-enabled terminals, such as: desktops, notebooks, tablet computers and smartphones. Observer increases the process reliability of cutting systems. Orders can be calculated in a reliable and efficient manner, because unscheduled idle times and deviations from the planned time per piece are reduced.

In this video recorded last month at Fabtech International, Bystronic’s Gerrit Gerritsen explains in detail the cost saving benefits of the new Voice Control and Part ID technologies used in this video with the Bystronic Xpert press brake. http://ht.ly/rcX4R
