On October 19, 2013 Athletic Leaders, held its first “Kettlebell Swing Challenge for Breast Cancer”. Community and gym members gathered at 11:00 am to do 1000 swings individually for one hour. As a whole over 30,000 swings were completed during the hour. Rogers Television was present to document this remarkable challenge. Every swing helped to raise a grand total of $5100.00 for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
Each participant had pledge forms which contributed to raising donations. Athletic Leaders sold many “Swings for a Cure” kettlebell t-shirts that also increased the fundraising efforts. "I am ecstatic that in less than 2 weeks we were able to raise over $5000 for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Athletic Leaders strongly believes in doing everything possible to get our communities to embrace a healthy lifestyle, and we believe in giving back by helping people. Next year’s kettlebell swing
challenge will be even bigger and better!"- says Granville Mayers, owner of Athletic Leaders.
