Dec. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- Jersey’s most highly rated hotel, Longueville Manor, has announced a restructuring of the family business in preparation for major investment and re-development.

On Friday December 6th, the Longueville Manor property was officially sold by Neal Lewis to NB Holdings; a new company now owned by his son and long established Chairman of Longueville Manor Hotel Ltd, Malcolm Lewis. This move is part of an overall strategy for Malcolm and his wife Patricia to take the hotel forward into an exciting new phase of major investment and development.

Malcolm Lewis said: ‘the only change is that my father has made me the official owner of the hotel property. Now is the right time to make the transfer before we move forward with our exciting development plans. Signs are hopeful for a healthy recovery in tourism both locally and worldwide therefore it is important that Longueville Manor prepares itself so that it can continue to make a significant contribution to both Jersey tourism and the economy as a whole.’

Lewis paid tribute to his parents Neal and Barbara, saying; “in 1948, when they first purchased the manor, their aim was to make the hotel the finest in Jersey. Today, Longueville Manor is the most highly rated hotel in the Channel Islands – the only hotel with an AA 5 red star rating. My wife Patricia and I value our family history and realise its significant relevance. With their wealth of experience, we still value my parent’s wisdom and advice and we are of course hopeful that their legacy will remain within the family for many years to come.”

Future plans:  This winter will see the start of a major investment involving another round of bedroom refurbishment, the continuation of a ground floor re-styling project, new car parking facilities with major re-landscaping, and the introduction of a number of new leisure facilities.

Planning permission to create an additional 10 luxury suites within the grounds was granted last year and it is hopeful that their launch will be towards the end of 2015. Each suite will be a generous space with interconnecting rooms and either a large terrace or balcony.  Their size and quality will take the hotel’s “luxury” to a new level.

Longueville Manor is a 14th century manor house set in 16 acres of beautiful grounds close to St Helier. The hotel offers 28 bedrooms and suites, historical gardens, tennis court, swimming pool, croquet lawn and enchanting woodland. Longueville Manor’s exemplary hospitality, modern comfort and technology, fine cuisine and meticulous attention to detail are some of its hallmarks.

Longueville Manor is the only member of the exclusive Relais & Châteaux portfolio and the only AA 5 Red Star hotel in the Channel Islands
