PLYMOUTH, Mass. - Dec. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- After screening at theatres, law schools and science fiction conventions around North America, Justice Is Mind returns to Massachusetts for two screenings. The psychological courtroom thriller will screen January 11, 2014 at Plimoth Cinema, Plymouth, MA and January 24, 2014 at Cape Cinema, Dennis, MA.

“Having screened Justice Is Mind to enthusiastic audiences all over New England with stops in Canada, California and Mississippi, we’re delighted to bring the film back home to Massachusetts,” said Mark Lund writer/director of Justice Is Mind. “This will mark a great start to 2014 as we look to bring the film to foreign markets and additional distribution platforms.”

Set in the near future where advanced MRI technology can read your memory, Justice Is Mind follows businessman and restaurant owner Henri Miller who has been afflicted with unexplained headaches since childhood. When he has the new FVMRI procedure and it reveals that he has allegedly shot and killed two people, the trial of the century begins in which Miller is faced with his own memory at trial. But all is not as it seems as a dark family secret, held by Henri’s minister father Joseph, reveals itself in the courtroom. The official trailer can be viewed at this link:

Lund adds, “With President Obama supporting brain research with a $100 million initiative, recent Supreme Court cases regarding landmark DNA and privacy issues along with a July article in The Atlantic magazine titled ‘Could the Government Get a Search Warrant for Your Thoughts’ Justice Is Mind is a well-timed dramatic feature film.”

Filmed primarily in Massachusetts, several leading and supporting actors of Justice Is Mind are from the Plymouth and Cape Cod region including Mary Wexler (Judge Wagner), Carlyne Fournier (Dr. Eve Pullman) and Gail Sullivan (Helen Granger). “A few years ago there was some discussion of a film studio being built in Plymouth,” said Lund. “Although that project didn’t materialize enthusiasm for acting in the local community did with the result being first rate performances in Justice Is Mind.” Twelve actors from the region can be seen in the film.

Justice Is Mind had its world premiere on August 18, 2013 in Albany, New York at the Capital District Film Festival.

About Cape Cinema, Dennis, MA

In June 1930, just three years after successfully launching the Cape Playhouse, Raymond Moore opened the Cape Cinema. Designed by Alfred Easton Poor (Wright Brother's Monument), who modeled the building’s façade on the Congregational Church in Centerville, Mass., the cinema’s colonial exterior housed an Art Deco-inspired auditorium containing 300 individual arm chairs of black lacquer and tangerine suede, purchased from the Frankl Gallery in New York. The Cinema's crowning glory, however, was the mammoth 6,400 square foot mural vaulting its curved ceiling. Moore choose Rockwell Kent, one of America's most original and controversial artists, to design and execute this masterpiece. Completed in the spring of 1930, the Cape Cinema’s mural is still among the largest in the U.S. and one of only five Kent did in his lifetime.
