Rutland Community in Hanover County, VA Named Richmond’s Best Mixed-Use Project

RICHMOND, Va. - Dec. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- HHHunt Communities (http://www.hhhuntcommunities.com/), a division of HHHunt Corporation (http://hhhunt.com/), is proud to announce that its Rutland (http://www.rutlandnewhomes.com/) master-planned community was named the Best Mixed Use Project in Richmond by the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Richmond chapter. The award was accepted by George Moore, Vice President of Development for HHHunt Communities, at the fourth annual ULI Vision Awards event held in Richmond's Main Street Station on Wednesday night.

The other two nominees for the award were The Locks development in downtown Richmond and The Lofts @ West Station in Roanoke. Rutland received the award for its pedestrian focus, impressive amenities, connections to the area’s history, and mix of single-family homes, townhomes, office space, and retail.

The ULI Richmond Vision Awards celebrate and honor companies and organizations in the region that have been instrumental in creating visionary development. Based on the ULI National Awards for Excellence with the objective of recognizing superior development projects, the judging criteria includes factors that go beyond good design to also include leadership, contribution to the community, innovation, public/private partnerships, environmental protection and enhancement, response to societal needs, and financial success. The Judging Panel was comprised of experts from the diverse disciplines related to urban development including finance, land planning, development, public affairs, architecture, engineering and design.
