Dec. 5, 2013 - PRLog -- For the well seasoned traveler, Spring is an ideal time of the year to cruise the canals and waterways of Europe on a luxury hotel barge. From the legendary tulip fields of Holland to the city of Paris in the Spring, the weather is perfect for sightseeing and the landscape is bursting with colors. European Waterways, Europe’s largest luxury hotel barge cruising company, is making Spring 2014 even more attractive with a wide range of special offers on select cruises to launch its 2014 season, including up to $2,000 off per cabin and 10% off whole-boat charters.

“Spring is a beautiful season in Europe,” said Derek Banks, managing director of European Waterways.  “Nature is at its most colorful, and there is no better way to soak up the view than from the deck of a luxury hotel barge.  Our vessels cruise through the tulip fields of Holland, coast along the scenic Canal du Midi in Southern France, and make stops in the famous wine regions of Burgundy. With our special offers and no single supplement for select April departures, traveling aboard one of our hotel barges is the perfect getaway for next Spring!”

Bonjour Aboard La Belle Époque

Celebrated in songs and captured in dazzling photographs, Paris in the Spring has been inspiring visitors for centuries.  It’s a bonus enjoyed by guests en route to La Belle Époque, who receive chauffeured transfer service to and from a designated hotel in central Paris.  Then, cruising through Burgundy on some of Europe’s most picturesque canals, they enjoy fine wines, tour charming medieval villages rich in history, and sample some of the finest local cuisine. The Burgundy landscape itself is also a treat in the Springtime, as it becomes home to blooming cherry blossoms and lilacs, forested hills, and rows of growing grape vines.

La Belle Époque’s itinerary is filled with trips that appeal to all the senses, from a private wine tasting at a renowned Chablis vineyard, to a tour of the exquisite Abbaye de Fontenay. Burgundy is a wonderful region for Spring enthusiasts, where you can feel the sunshine on your face, smell the cherry blossom and lilacs and drift slowly through a backdrop of rolling hills and vineyards,” said Banks.

For Spring 2014, European Waterways’ special offers include $2,000 off per cabin for the March 30th departure, no single supplement for April departures, and 10% off whole boat charters in April.

Panache’s “Tulip Cruises” in Holland

A visit to Holland’s famous tulip fields in the Spring is a must for travelers. European Waterways’12-passenger luxury hotel barge Panache provides the perfect way to take in the spectacular floral displays with its series of ”Tulip Cruises”.  Holland in the Spring is a flower lover’s paradise and a once-in-a-lifetime experience for visitors, but there is also the opportunity to admire the beautiful Holland countryside with its iconic windmills, cheese farms and quaint waterside towns and villages.

Passengers aboard Panache will tour the world famous Keukenhof Gardens, home to seven million tulips, daffodils and other colorful flowers in full bloom.  Other highlights include a tour of Gouda, Holland’s cheese center, and a trip to the historic canal city of Delft, where travelers will witness first-hand the historic local tradition of porcelain being hand-made and painted.

For Spring 2014, European Waterways is offering $1,000 off per cabin for the April 13th and April 27th departures, 10% off whole-boat charters for the April 6th and 20th departures, and no single supplements for all April departures (cannot be combined with any other offer).

Anjodi on the Canal du Midi

Coasting along the 330-year-old Canal du Midi, a UNESCO World Heritage site and an engineering marvel, European Waterways’ 8-passenger Anjodi offers a relaxing trip along the Mediterranean shore of Southern France, before meandering inland past Roman villages, Minervois vineyards and magnificent views of the snow-capped Pyrenees Mountains. The charming hotel barge cruises gently along this historic waterway with its ever-present towpath that is ideal for cycling and walking.

The Anjodi itinerary features a private wine tasting at the 14th century vineyards of Château de Perdiguier, a tour of Carcassonne, the most complete medieval fortified city in existence today, and a visit to Pezenas, a village associated with the playwright Molière, considered to be one of the greatest masters of comedy in Western literature.

For next Spring, European Waterways is offering $1,000 off per cabin for the April 27th departure and 10% off whole-boat charters for all April departures.

All these special offers must be booked by December 20, 2013.  Cabin specials are based on double occupancy. About European Waterways

The hotel barging experience is different from large vessel river cruising. It offers a slower paced, “gentle voyage of discovery” along the more intimate canals and waterways of Europe, allowing a small number of guests to become more fully immersed in the culture, history and gastronomy of the region. European Waterways is Europe’s largest all-inclusive luxury hotel barging company, offering vacations in nine countries and carrying over 2,000 passengers a year. Founded nearly 40 years ago, they own, operate and market a private fleet of luxury hotel barges with cruises in France, Italy, Scotland, Ireland, England, Germany, Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg.  Pioneers in hotel barging, they were the first company to operate a hotel barge on the Upper Nivernais in Burgundy, and the “real” Loire Valley. They are also the only cruise company offering barge cruises in Scotland and in the Venetian lagoon and River Po valley. Please visit www.gobarging.com for more information.
