PITTSBURGH - Dec. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- Matt McWilliams is a fighter. In every sense of the word. On December 7th 2013, he will step back into the cage after a two-year hiatus to take on Dann Cucuta at Gladiators of The Cage in Pittsburgh, PA.

McWilliams, who is a well-rounded Muay Thai fighter out of Philadelphia, PA, has certainly dealt with his fair share of trails and tribulations during his career. In 2011, he tore his ACL, and since then has battled in and out of the gym to keep his motivation to fight another day.

But that’s what family is for. And McWilliams, like so many other fighters, found his family behind the walls of Brazen Boxing and MMA, a Philadelphia-based gym with a great stable of professional and amateur fighters.

McWilliams, who originally started out training with Brazen, returned and has seen an improved focus professionally and personally. His coach makes sure of it.

Jason Sargus, lead coach and Co-founder at Brazen MMA shows McWilliams the support and tough love that propelled him to step into the cage once again.

McWilliams echoed his undying loyalty and thanks to Sargus and the Brazen team by saying things like this, which was posted on his Facebook page.

“Feels great too have genuinely good people in your corner that Care about you is a fighter and care more about u as a person. Brazen Boxing and MMA Is a family. Can’t wait to train tomorrow. I have the best coach around Jason Sargus and I can’t wait to step in the cage and make him proud again. I’m ready to do this coach.”

That’s what sets aside Brazen from most gyms, the no-nonsense love they show all of their athletes. It’s a place where they learn how to become world-class fighters, but also adaptable and socially responsible members of society. It’s a balance many need, but few receive.

Armed with a new outlook on his career, and life in general, McWilliams took this match-up with only nine days notice, but the Brazen team is confident in his ability.

“He has really been looking to get back into the cage, and we want to keep him busy and motivated. He’s been putting in the time and really adhering to our system, so he’s earned it,” said Jessica Richman, Founder of Brazen Boxing and MMA.

Both McWilliams and Cucuta have a pretty decent stand up game.

I would venture to say that McWilliams has the advantage on the ground, but they’ll compliment each other nicely. It should provide for an action-packed fight.

I attempted to ask McWilliams a couple of questions about the upcoming fight, and he replied, “Umm, u will c on Saturday.”

How can you not love that response?

I’m not in the mood for your antics, media guy, I’ve got stuff to punch.

Welcome back to the show, Mr. McWilliams.
