HAGERSTOWN, Md. - Dec. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- The Opening of the New Research Lab at the University of Costa Rica

November 18, 2013

The University of Costa Rica has set up an ergonomics laboratory for research and teaching purposes at its San José campus and equipped it with components from the item Work Bench System, such as the height-adjustable Work Bench 2F and SystemMobiles.  The material was handed over by item America LLC and local item partner ENESA Equipos Neumáticos S. A. during the university’s “Semana de la ingenieria industrial” exhibition.

The engineers of the future can now put theory into practice at a sample work bench as they carry out research into ergonomic work bench design.  Their studies cover everything from adjusting working and sitting heights in line with anthropometric criteria and organizing the placement of materials and tools to customising lighting systems and arranging how notices and information are presented to personnel. item partner ENESA is also planning to give product presentations at the University to support the student-attended lectures and seminars.  Plans are in place to expand the lab into a centre for ergonomics and lean manufacturing, and item will be providing its Lean Production Building Kit System to support this move.

The comprehensive and modular Work Bench System from item Industrietechnik GmbH offers a versatile, fast, and cost-efficient means of building production workstations in a huge variety of designs and configurations.  The modules in the system boast outstanding ergonomic design and are fully compatible with other item products.  What’s more, all the work benches feature continuously variable electrical height-adjustment systems so that they can always be moved to the perfect working height.
