Meade Lexus Holiday Toy Drive Brings Joy to Kids Fighting Cancer in Detroit Michigan

DETROIT - Dec. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- Meade Lexus will once again be hosting its Annual Holiday Toy Drive in Metro Detroit Michigan to benefit The Bottomless Toy Chest—showing their support for local children fighting cancer.

The Bottomless Toy Chest is a non-profit organization based in Birmingham, MI that is devoted to delivering toys and crafts to local hospitalized pediatric cancer patients. As a member of the local support system, they have been actively helping surrounding communities and children since their founding in 2008. Donations collected during the Meade Lexus Holiday Toy Drive will be delivered to children at local hospitals in Metro Detroit, including Beaumont Hospitals, St. John Providence, DMC Children’s Hospital of Michigan, University of Michigan’s C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, and Sparrow Health System.

New, unwrapped toys will be accepted through December 13th at Meade Lexus of Lakeside in Utica and at Meade Lexus of Southfield. At the conclusion of the toy drive, Meade Lexus employees will gather together to gift-wrap every toy in cellophane and ribbon before dropping them off at The Bottomless Toy Chest for distribution. The clear gift-wrap helps keep the toys clean to protect the children’s weakened immune systems, allows the children to pick out what they most want, and provides them with the opportunity to experience the joy that is accompanied by the opening of a present.

Providing gifts to children facing adversity this holiday season will do more than furnish them with a toy; it will help raise their spirits and empower them to keep fighting through this difficult time. Together with Meade Lexus, Metro Detroiters can help bring holiday cheer to these children who continue to inspire so many.

Appropriate donation suggestions include projects, games, and interactive toys for males and females between infancy and 20 years of age. Donation restrictions include violent games, books or toys (plastic swords, guns, projectile toys, etc.), food, candy, and religious materials. It is necessary that all donations are new and unused to eliminate possible health concerns.

Drop-off locations are located at Meade Lexus of Lakeside (45001 Northpointe Blvd, Utica, MI 48315) and Meade Lexus of Southfield (28300 Northwestern Hwy, Southfield, MI 48034). Donations will continue to be accepted through December 13th, 2013.
