Los Angeles Endoscopy Center Gastroenterologist Receives Patients' Choice Award for Fourth Year

LOS ANGELES - Dec. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- Among the select physicians honored with the prestigious Patients' Choice Award is Paul M. Choi, M.D. He was commended for his exemplary work in gastroenterology and compassion for his patients. The Patients' Choice honor reflects the positive impact that doctors make in the lives of their patients.

The Patients' Choice Award is given to doctors who consistently receive glowing reviews for their work and devotion to excellent patient care. In 2013 alone, more than 200,000 patients across America provided reviews and feedback regarding their personal treatment and experiences with their doctors. While physicians often receive positive feedback, only a select few consistently receive high reviews.

Dr. Choi scored near-perfect ratings in the categories of bedside manner, doctor-patient interaction, accurate diagnosis, followup care, ease of appointment, office staff courtesy, and overall patient opinion. Of the 830,000 doctors currently practicing in the U.S., only a select few received the Patients’ Choice Award in 2013. In fact, this is the fourth year in which Dr. Choi has received this coveted award. Recently, he was also awarded recognition in the Castle Connoly’s Top Doctors (2012) and Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2010-2012).

Dr. Paul M. Choi is board-certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine. Currently, he is the Director of Los Angeles Endoscopy Center. His undergraduate education is from M.I.T. in Cambridge, MA. He was also elected to Phi Beta Kappa (national honor society). He obtained his medical education from Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA where he was awarded highly coveted the John Harvard National Scholarship for a full four years. He trained in internal medicine at the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center and Sloan-Kettering Memorial Cancer Center in New York. Dr. Choi obtained his gastroenterology training at the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center.

After completing his formal medical training, he had spent additional years working on oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes at Columbia University’s Center for Cancer Research. Furthermore, Dr. Choi served as an Associate Medical Staff member at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA and as the Director of Clinical Research in the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. As a result, Dr. Choi brings a very strong basic science and clinical research background to his medical practice. Dr. Choi has written extensively for peer-reviewed journals and book chapters, and spoke at numerous national gastroenterology conventions. He is currently a Fellow Member of the American Gastroenterological Association (F.A.G.A). He has previously served as clinical faculty at both Harvard Medical School and UCLA School of Medicine.

Established in 1996, the Los Angeles Endoscopy Center (LAEC) has performed nearly 30,000 colonoscopies to date.
