NBV show support at the Ready for Business Awards

EAST MIDLANDS, U.K. - Dec. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- Twenty-two start-up businesses from across the UK met at the House of Commons earlier this week for the first annual Ready for Business Awards 2013. Each business had been nominated regional winners, exceling one the following categories - Best Growth Potential Start-Up, Best Business to Business (B2B) Start-Up and Best Business to Consumer (B2C) Start-Up.

Ready for Business is a start-up programme supported by the Government’s Regional Growth Fund, Barclays and delivered by the Cavendish Consortium - a partnership between England’s leading enterprise agencies – providing business start-up support across England.

Since its launch last summer, the programme has created more than 2,500 new jobs nationwide and has aims to assist a further 6,000 businesses.

Here in the East Midlands, NBV Enterprise Solutions attended the awards in support of their client and regional Best B2C Start-up winner Lisa Hall from Newark, Nottinghamshire.

Owner of bespoke wedding stationary company East View Designs, Lisa’s is no stranger to the spotlight having made it through to the Top 10 Finalists in the Wedding Stationery category of the hitched.co.uk, Breakthrough Awards earlier this year.

Impressed by the rapid growth of her business Lisa was nominated for the award by her NBV business advisor Jenny Scott-Kilner.

Jenny said: “I am very proud of Lisa who has shown unwavering flair and innovation. She deserves to be recognised for her hard work and spirit of enterprise. It’s been a pleasure to be her NBV business adviser and to witness the development of her business. ”
