O’Neil. “The domestic and international trade expertise they provide will be welcomed by our clients and will further enhance many of our practice areas including Energy and International.” Ms. Schulz, who joins the Firm as a partner, brings more than 12 years of international trade and customs experience. She has experience handling matters involving U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, and the Bureau of Industry and Security. In addition, Ms. Schulz currently serves on the President’s Export Council Subcommittee on Export Administration, a senior-level advisory body to the U.S. Department of Commerce, and as an advisor to the U.S. Secretary of Commerce and the U.S. Trade Representative on the Industry Trade Advisory Committee on Aerospace. “I am truly privileged and excited to be a part of this outstanding Firm and, along with my team, look forward to growing a global trade division at Gardere that embodies the very best in professional leadership, innovation and integrity,” says Ms. Schulz. “Our goal is not only to meet the needs of our clients, but also to exceed their expectations whenever possible.” Ms. Manzanares, who also joins the Firm as a partner, focuses her practice on compliance with domestic and international regulations governing export of dual-use commodities, defense articles, software and technology. She frequently represents clients on compliance with ITAR, EAR, and the various embargo and sanctions programs administered by the Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control.
