By: The Mario Do Right Foundation The "Fill the Truck" event is open to anyone who would like to donate new toys and coats to children who are in need. Shoppers will receive a list of suggested gifts at the store to help “Fill the Truck.” The collection is expected to provide gifts to thousands of underprivileged families across the Baltimore community. “As we gather with friends and family to celebrate the holidays, it is important for us to remember our neighbors,” said Ervin Curtis, manager of the Walmart store #3507 Port Covington. “While working with Mario, his foundation, and our generous shoppers, we hope to provide for Baltimore area families bringing them more smiles on Christmas day.” The Mario Do Right Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 2007 by Grammy nominated R&B singer, songwriter and actor Mario Barrett. The mission of the foundation is to educate, mentor and support youth adversely affected by substance abuse in the family and in under served communities. Their initiatives have ranged from partnering with the National Institute on Drug Abuse during National Drug Facts Week, to fundraising events with grassroots organizations, school supplies donations and public speaking engagements. The foundation’s many partners have included, Big Brother Big Sister, Boys and Girls Club, Carmelo Anthony Foundation, Living Classrooms Foundation, Wells Fargo, State Farm and the Walmart Foundation.
