Dec. 3, 2013 - PRLog -- Copiague, NY…December 3, 2013…At a recent ceremony held at the US Army National Guard and Naval Reserve Center in Farmingdale, New York, Lindenhurst resident Patti Moser, a routing coordinator for Educational Bus Transportation, received the prestigious Seven Seals Award from ESGR (Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve), a Department of Defense office.  The award was presented in recognition of Educational Bus Transportation providing transportation to catastrophically injured veterans as they attended events in support of the annual Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Run in lower Manhattan and the Gary Sinise Foundation.  The Foundationaims to raise funds to build custom designed, specially adapted homes for the most catastrophically injured American service members.  Educational Bus Transportation is a member company of The Trans Group, headquartered in Spring Valley, New York.  Receiving the Seven Seals Award with Moser were Trans Group President John Corr, Jr., and Trans Group Executive Vice President Timothy E. Flood.

According to Flood, “Patti was contacted by NYC ESGR Area Chair Mike Chierico and told of the need for one of our specially-fitted handicap-accessible buses and one of our charter buses.  Within an hour we called back and told them it was a go.  Whatever they needed.  Educational Bus Transportation is extremely appreciative of the sacrifices made by the brave men and women in our armed forces who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.  It was an honor to donate the transportation services and manpower that enabled these veterans and their families to attend the events.”

An annual event that this autumn attracted more than 25,000 participants, the Tunnel to Towers Run is named in memory of Stephen Siller, a New York City fireman who perished on September 11, 2001.  Despite being off duty, Siller strapped on 60 pounds of firefighter gear, rushed on foot through gridlocked traffic and ran from the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the World Trade Center site.  He was last seen with his brothers of Squad 1; all of whom died saving others.  The Tunnel to Towers Foundation, organized by his loved ones, has today evolved beyond support of first responders to also include those who served in America’s recent wars.

The Seven Seals Award is presented by ESGR at both the state and national levels to honor significant individual or organizational achievement that promotes and supports the ESGR mission.  For information on ESGR, please visit www.esgr.org.  Information on the Tunnel to Towers Foundation is available at www.tunnel2towersfoundation.org.
