As Martin explains…
“With both petrol and public transport becoming more and more expensive every year, it is no surprise that more and more people are turning to their bikes to help them save money in the current economic climate. However, whilst the benefits of cycling are obvious, it is unwise to take to the roads unless you are properly prepared. In cities in particular, accidents involving cyclists are not uncommon, and although it is easy to blame careless drivers, the chances are a significant percentage of these incidents could have been avoided if the cyclists involved were more aware of how to act on the road and what gear they need to have with them.
“It is for this reason that I have written a series of 12 articles and released them for free online. Covering everything from how to use gears and brakes correctly to how to diffuse aggressive situations on the road, these articles will give anyone looking to get into cycling all the information they need to ensure their experience of road cycling is a good one.
