NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE, U.K. - Dec. 3, 2013 - PRLog -- Anyone with an interest in computer recording or who has a home studio set-up will be familiar with Steinberg's reference software called Cubase and the regularity with which new versions are released. What they might find surprising is the speed of Steinberg's announcement of the release of Cubase 7.5. it's latest incarnation.

Soundslive (Visit http://www.soundsliveshop.com ), who are one of the UK's leading centres for Cubase both online and at the Newcastle store, only got to release the launch information on December 3rd, but stock of Cubase 7.5 starts shipping tomorrow. This is very unusual, especially as Soundslive have normally been able to announce releases for several weeks beforehand.

One piece of good news for those who've recently bought Cubase 7.0 (the best-selling version so far) is that any purchases after October 13th this year will qualify for a no-cost upgrade to the new version. That seems only fair, doesn't it.

Although one suspects that the thought of getting in on the pre-Christmas rush was too much for Steinberg to resist, there are some very significant upgrades in the latest version of Cubase.

All DAWs make claims for how they allow you to get on with making music instead of getting caught inside the technology, but their ability to deliver this varies enormously. In Cubase 7.5, one of the biggest changes to what is known as workflow is the introduction of a facility called TrackVersions and yes, you've got it, it allows the user to create multiple versions of a track with different names. Of course, this could get very messy, so a thing called TrackVisibility is the usability enhancement that helps you to make sense of all those versions, by keeping the project window nice and clean.

This relatively obvious mechanism should improve things a lot and remove one of the criticisms of Cubase when compared to some more recent DAWs.

As you'd expect with a major new version of such a marquee software, there are also new and improved instruments. Of note in this context are the Groove Agent SE4 virtual drum set-up which includes around 30 new kits and the Halion Sonic SE2 workstation.

Soundslive will be shipping Cubase 7.5 from December 4th and the usual clinics and demonstration events should follow in the new year. You can find more details at http://www.soundsliveshop.com/News/Cubase-7-5-announced-by-Steinberg
