Akigbogun has been an excellent student-athlete while at Regis Jesuit where she led her teammates to the 5A Championship last season. During her high school career at Regis, she has received many honors and awards, such as Gatorade State Player of the Year, All-Colorado, All-Continental, and being named Ms. Basketball. She had other offers from Michigan, Baylor, and South Florida to consider where to play as a college freshman, but she ultimately chose to be a Longhorn. Neffie Lockley, teammate of Akigbogun at Regis and Premier, verbally committed to Howard University. Keith Van Horn, Premier Basketball Club Executive Director said, “Diani and Neffie are great basketball players, but even better people and students. We wish them the best at their respective colleges and we know that they will be excellent student-athletes.” Premier looks forward to more commitments from other U17 National Team players as they finish their college visits. The players with college offers include Mullen’s Mikela Tucker, Dakota Ridge’s Jae Ferrin, Chatfield’s Emily Lachenmayer and Mullen’s Emily Dryden.
