FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Dec. 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Barnette, also known for his work as the screen writer for "Canonize Me", a featured film short at the Cannes Film Festival in 2012, began work on a documentary  about Macias, a Fayetteville boy who began playing piano at 2 years old, teaching himself note-by-note, without formal lessons. Over the past few months, the two have been working together to create the sound track, "What Michael Sees" for the documentary of the same name. The professionally produced and recorded soundtrack includes nine of Michael’s original songs .

What Michael Sees, the documentary film, was born when Barnette heard Macias' mother speak of her son's achievement in composing his own music despite his disability. While he reads in Braille, he does not read music in Braille and has learned to memorize the sounds he hears . The film, produced Barnette under his production company, Bits & Peaces Productions, is being funded through crowd-sourcing and donations through the distribution of the newly released soundtrack.

“What Michael Sees” is currently available as a premium for those making a minimum donation to help support the project. The funding will be used to finish the film and to prepare for film festival and educational program submissions. More information can be found, along with links to performance clips, scenes from the documentary and donation information at the production website http:// (../)www.bitsandpeacesproductions.com
