Honsermeier and Haramati will explore the outcomes from a novel mind-body medicine program for medical school students and faculty that is designed to foster self-awareness, and the potential implications for the general population. As the founding Vice-Chair of the Consortium of Academic Health Centers for Integrative Medicine, Dr. Haramati chaired several of the Consortium’s International Congresses on Integrative Medicine and Health –and the upcoming Congress to be held in May 2014 in Miami, which will showcase the best science in the field of complementary and integrative medicine. Dr. Haramati led a broad NIH-funded educational initiative aimed at incorporating complementary, alternative (CAM) and integrative medicine into the medical curriculum at Georgetown, and currently co-directs the graduate studies in Physiology—CAM program.
