Insurance Restoration Specialists Donates Two LED Scoreboards to Union Beach

Nov. 25, 2013 - PRLog -- Children and adults will once again be able to “Play Ball!” and know what the score is in Union Beach. Insurance Restoration Specialists, Inc. (IRS) recently donated two LED scoreboards to the Union Beach Memorial School to be used for baseball, softball and soccer events by Union Beach children and other young athletes from surrounding towns.

Insurance Restoration Specialists, Inc. was responsible for the restoration and reconstruction project at Union Beach Memorial School after Superstorm Sandy decimated it. The school had been inundated with storm water when the Raritan Bay flooded the area. The entire school had between 8-12 inches of water throughout. IRS worked on the project for approximately 7 months and managed to get the students back into the school prior to the end of the 2012-2013 school year in June.

“We were amazed at the outpouring of support and volunteerism by both the community of Union Beach and school staff,” stated Tim Jarema, chief executive officer of IRS. “Everyday volunteers would show up to assist with the cleanup and restoration. It was an incredible and inspirational effort,” Jarema said.” “And that effort and involvement by the people made the gift of scoreboards even more meaningful to the staff of Insurance Restoration. It was an extreme pleasure to work with Superintendent Joe Annibale and the entire Board of Education,” Jarema added.

As the restoration and reconstruction project was drawing to its conclusion, IRS knew it wanted to give back to  Memorial School and the community of Union Beach by donating the two electronic LED scoreboards. Daktronics, manufacturer of the scoreboards, contributed to this project by reducing the cost of the equipment and providing expedited delivery and support. The total cost of the project was approximately $35,000.

IRS will symbolically hand over the scoreboard’s controls to MemorialSchool at a presentation during the Union Beach Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, November 26. The meeting begins at 7pm.

IRS would like to thank the following companies and individuals for their contributions:

Jack O’Krepky of KSM Engineering for structural support plans; Sal Santoro- Architect; Marc Rizzo and Brian McLarnon with McLarnon Electric; Henkels and McCoy Company for donating and installing the electric pole; Henkels and McCoy employees Rick Ventola, Gary Brown, John Smutz, Mike Lind and Greg Wright; Union Beach Construction Official Robert Burlew
