Accure Sets up Big Data Center of Excellence at Chinmaya Institute of Technology, Kannur

BANGALORE, India - Nov. 25, 2013 - PRLog -- Accure Pvt Ltd and Chinmaya Institute of Technology, commonly known as Chintech, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today to setup Big Data Center of Excellence in the institute. This will enable Chintech to produce skilled engineers and scientists for cloud and big data technologies.

Professor KR Srivathsan, Director, Chinmaya Institute of Technology, Kannur, and Shamshad Ansari, President and CEO, Accure Pvt Ltd signed and exchanged the MoU. Professor K.K Falgunan, Principal, Chintech, Mrs Jeena K.K, Assistance Professor, Ms Sandhaya K.V, Assistant Professor, and other faculty members and staff were also present in the MoU signing ceremony.

The main objective under this MoU is to establish a Big Data Center of Excellence by setting up Hadoop cluster laboratory and to provide education and training to faculty and students who will learn how to apply Big Data concepts in solving real world problems.

Accure conducted two days Hadoop workshop at Chintech and provided training on how to setup multi-node distributed Hadoop cluster. Professor Srivathsan says, “It was a great achievement by the Chintech team that they were able to set up a fully distributed Hadoop cluster lab and wrote and executed Mapreduce programs during the training. The team was very excited to learn this new technology.”

Professor Srivathsan explained his Hadoop plan and stated, “Chintech plans to apply Hadoop for the management of education in clusters of schools and colleges. The platform will also facilitate conducting advanced R&D in distributed databases and computing.”

Chinmaya Institute of Technology, approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and Government of Kerala, affiliated to the Kannur University is a Professional Institute established by Chinmaya Mission Educational and Cultural Trust, Kannur as a Golden Jubilee project of Chinmaya Movement.
