Online Credit Card Payment Fraud- Vanquished

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - Nov. 25, 2013 - PRLog -- Criminal fraud in online shopping costs consumers and merchants $Billions each year and is on the rise.  More and more consumers and vendors are suffering financial losses from online credit card payment fraud.

Although many frauds are not reported, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) released a statistical survey of fraud in the United States.  This survey showed that during 2011 an estimated 25.6 million adults – 10.8 percent of the U.S. adult population – were fraud victims.

In a recent meeting on prevention of Internet consumer fraud, Dr. Glenn Gearhart, the CEO of World Market, a leader in fraud-free online shopping, stated: “The two most common financial losses that occur when using a credit card for an online purchase are (a) the theft of the consumer's identity (ID Theft) and (b) the theft of the consumer’s credit card account data (Card Theft).”

Card theft is when the criminal acquires the consumer's credit card number, card expiration date, name, billing address and often the special security code.  All of this data is available in many credit card data bases, which are frequently compromised- stolen by cyber criminals and thereafter used illegally to commit fraud.

These online frauds can cause the consumer great financial loss and frustration.  Sometimes these losses are reimbursed to the consumer and the financial loss is passed on to the product vendor.  Normally the credit card companies and the sponsoring credit card processing banks make the consumer or the vendor take the financial loss from any fraud.

World Market payment by PinPay is very different.  No credit cards ever used in any online purchase.  World Market does not collect, receive or store, in any manner, any consumer credit card data.

During the meeting, Dr. Gearhart said: “There can never be a Card Theft at World Market because there are never any credit cards accepted.  All payments are in “Online CASH.”  Furthermore, there can never be a bank account ID fraud because World Market does not receive or have any data on a consumer's bank accounts.  World Market is a truly a safe online place for consumers to shop, and for vendors to sell their products.”

World Market is currently operating in Beta, in 235 countries and territories with full service to consumers and vendors commencing early 2014.

Clearly, the World Market global cash-pay Internet shopping mall is proof that a new dawn is rising for the over 2.4 billion Internet users and shopping consumers, who need protection from online payment fraud.
