While the evidence of whether personal trainers and fitness coaches really help people get into shape has largely been subjective, an article that ran in ACE Certified News gives clear proof that having someone there to guide you will have a profound impact on one's progress.  The article cites a 2003 study that shows a full 73% of participants advanced substantially in regards to their physical activity and, equally important; they demonstrated evidence of overall behavior change.

·         Sedentary behavior appears to be an important stand-alone component in terms of overall health and wellness.
