SARASOTA, Fla. - Nov. 21, 2013 - PRLog -- WTMY radio (1280 AM) has a new owner and a new format. The station’s format features songs of the “Big Band” era and “American Popular Standards”. New York radio executive and broadcaster Eugene Dolan purchased the station from Polnet Communications and is in the process of programming it with the music of the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s along with contemporary artists performances of songs from that era.

WTMY had been a sports talk station since 2011. Previous formats included general talk and business and financial news/talk.

Eugene Dolan is looking for staffers and has put out the following release:

“Do you have years of experience in broadcasting and would you like to be a part of bringing the music of the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s back to radio?

Volunteers are being sought who can share their own special radio talents in bringing the greatest music ever made back to the Sarasota airwave. Both on the air and behind-the-scenes positions are available for this labor-of-love project. And, of course, sales people are needed.

WTMY 1280 AM is looking for those with unique knowledge of “The Great American Songbook” and the music of the “Big Bands”, and who want to play a part in Sarasota radio history.

If you, or someone you know, would like to join the team to bring America’s best music back to radio, call Eugene at 941-780-2184 or email Eugene@wtmyradio.net.”
