DETROIT - Nov. 20, 2013 - PRLog -- Known for her commitment to inspiring others, Sharisa T. Robertson has announced plans release A Letter to My Bully, a collection of essays written by victims of bullying, an act of harassment that has gained more attention throughout the past several years due to technological advances – the Internet. Victims between age eight and eighteen are invited to share their stories with Robertson.

“This collaboration is an opportunity for young victims to write open letters to a bully, their bully,  all bullies. The goal of launching A Letter to My Bully is to provide an outlet for expressing and releasing all of the hurt, resentment, anger and pain that has been experienced, from the youth’s perspective,” says Roberston.

The Department of Education hosts the Annual Federal Partners in Bullying Prevention Summit to share bullying statistics in elementary, middle and high schools across the U.S. In 2009 the Department revealed during the Summit that almost 10 percent of students bullied in school were also victims of a crime. What’s more, nearly five percent of students who were bullied brought “a gun, knife, or other weapon to school” (source: http://www.respectu.com/).

The need to support victims of bullying is severe. “The purpose of this book is to share the voices of our youth, help build self-esteem and confidence, offer a way for them to heal, have a positive release, and find comfort and solidarity in the company of other youth.  A Letter To My Bully also shows how you can take something bad and use it for good, while bringing attention to bullying and its negative impact on today’s society,” says Roberston.

Robertson is also seeking adult contributors for a bonus section for the book, to share advice, and experiences on the subject of bullying. Teachers, social workers, psychologists and parents of children who have succumbed to bullying, should contact Robertson at info@liliesofthefieldmedia.com
