Designer pre-registration opens for 2014 fashion events

BALTIMORE - Nov. 19, 2013 - PRLog -- Designer pre-registration is open for 2014 events coordinated by the Fashion Umbrella.  Designers interested in showcasing in the annual fashion fundraiser events must pre-register for participation approval.  The 2014 events include April 19, 2014,  UNDER – the PETITE fashion event and/or August 14-17, 201, Baltimore Fashion Week.

Proceeds from the events will be designated for the scholarship award.

“It’s key that designers selected for our events are able to produce purchasable, sellable, and rack ready garments.   The marriage of textiles and movement should play hand-in-hand with the creation of any garment.  To have a divorce within these 2 key elements can be the start of a disastrous collection.  Having these two key concepts married together will introduce the lifecycle of fabulous collections,” stated Sharan Nixon, Executive Director of the Fashion Umbrella.

Pre-registration is open for designers and artists.  The pre-registration for UNDER, the petite fashion event geared towards the petite consumer ends January 31st . Pre-registration for Baltimore Fashion Week ends March 30th.

All submissions will be reviewed by a panel of fashion colleagues to determine the approval status of each designer.  Should a designer not pass the review, an opportunity will be awarded for the designer to provide additional information to eliminate the panel’s questions or concerns.   Once a decision has been rendered, the designer will be notified.

Designers participating in Baltimore Fashion Week will know his/her showcasing date for Baltimore Fashion Week August 14-17, 2014.  If approved, the designer participation agreement will be mailed to the designer for completion.

Submissions will only be received by first class mail.  Depending on the submission option selected documents to be mailed could include color and signed sketches, along with fabric swatches.  Two options are available “Sketch” or “Pictorial.”

Pre-registration ends for UNDER February 28th .  Pre-registration for Baltimore Fashion Week ends March 30th.
