Betts Company Supports Local Students; Visits Bulldog Racing Team at Cal State Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. - Nov. 18, 2013 - PRLog -- Betts Company supports the passion of nonprofit Bulldog Racing, a student organization associated with the Lyles College of Engineering at California State University, Fresno. Bulldog Racing is a competitive team of engineering students determined to achieve racing excellence in Formula SAE® and Baja Series competitions.

To thank Betts Company for its offering of technical expertise and financial support, Bulldog Racing team members hosted Betts Company team members Joe Devany, director of operations, engineers David Ellis, Mike Thibert, Patrick Reilly and Eddie Cadena, marketing coordinator at their garage in Fresno.

“We are thrilled to support the efforts of these bright and innovative students,” said Devany. “We enjoyed the chance to visit the team and learn more about their projects. Our engineering team was able to provide advice to Bulldog Racing on how to fine tune the design of their race car.”

Bulldog Racing primarily consists of Fresno State University engineering students, who strive to achieve and excel in engineering, innovation and design. Among its projects the team is involved in a competition with Formula SAE®, a student design competition organized by SAE International (formerly Society of Automotive Engineers). Formula SAE promotes careers and excellence in engineering as it encompasses all aspects of the automotive industry including research, design, manufacturing, testing, developing, marketing, management and finance. Formula SAE takes students out of the classroom and allows them to apply textbook theories to real work experiences.
