Kelly Rowland To Wow Guests At Dubai Airshow Gala Dinner

The multiple Grammy award-winning American singer, actress and television personality is set to perform a captivating show of her latest hits for an elite audience of 3,200 invited guests from the Aviation world, including dignitaries, exhibitors, business executives and members of the media at a glittering private function.

Rowland rose to fame as a founding member of Destiny's Child along with Beyoncé and Michelle Williams. Destiny’s Child sold 60 million records worldwide, making them one of the world's best-selling girl groups. Since launching her solo career in 2002 Rowland has sold over 20 million records. Her first solo album topped the UK Albums chart, with the single “Dilemma” going number one worldwide.

Rowland’s music includes various styles of musical genres, including contemporary R&B, pop, hip hop, soul, rock and dance. Following the success of her first solo album, Rowland scored her second worldwide number one in 2009 with “When Love takes over” with French DJ David Guetta. She later had international top ten singles with “Commander” and “Motivation” which also topped the US R&B Hip Hop chart.

Her work has earned her numerous accolades, including a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with Destiny's Child.  As a solo artist she has won four Grammy Awards, 4 American Music Awards, 2 Billboard Music Awards and 2 MTV Video Music Awards, among others.

Apart from her work in music, Rowland has also launched an acting career, appearing in several television shows and feature films.  Rowland has also been in the spotlight as a judge and mentor for The X Factor television show. She is currently appearing on the US version of the show, having been a judge on the UK version in 2011.

This will be Rowland’s first performance in Dubai since 2011, and she is excited to be taking time out from her X Factor schedule to perform at the Gala Dinner.

Guests at the dinner will also be treated to a performance by popular international
acapella phenomenon, the Grammy Award-winning Swingles, as well as DJ sensation Mitchell Niemeyer.

The Swingles were formed over 50 years ago, and today’s line up comprises seven young and versatile voices delivering a unique repertoire guaranteed to delight audiences with their vocal agility and showmanship.

Mitchell Niemeyer is an up and coming Dutch DJ who is making a name for himself in house music, playing a number of high profile festivals around the world. In 2013 Niemeyer released his first single, and he is currently working on a collaboration with Kelly Rowland.

The biennial Dubai Airshow will this year be staged in a new home, the multi billion dollar Dubai World Central, at the centre of which lies the Al Maktoum International Airport, which was officially opened on 27 October by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Airshow organisers are expecting this year’s event to be the largest in the show’s 26 year history, with more than 1,000 exhibitors from around the world and up to 60,000 trade visitors expected.
