DURHAM, N.C. - Nov. 17, 2013 - PRLog -- Ask anyone who knows Rachel Bath, President of HOCOA Triangle… They’ll tell you their own unique version of seeing Rachel thrive as she assists area neighbors in their home repair and maintenance needs. She’s been a Triangle home owner for 20 years and partner in M Squared Builders and Designers since 1996. In 2009, Rachel opened the doors to HOCOA Triangle, the on-call referral service for home repair and maintenance needs serving Wake, Durham, Orange Counties and surrounding areas. HOCOA Triangle members receive local 24/7 access to quality, insured contractors who give their best pricing for planned and unplanned repair/home improvement needs. HOCOA Triangle members also receive discounts and special offers through participating businesses, such as wholesale pricing on appliances, flooring, tile, countertops, cabinets, TVs, gas grills, lawn tractors, exercise equipment and more.

“Relationship building is what HOCOA Triangle is all about,” Rachel commented this week. “The rapport I built (and continue to build) with M Squared has transferred to HOCOA Triangle. I saw a real need for this type of referral business as I worked with M Squared customers who needed to repair/enhance their existing homes in order to sell them and purchase new homes. Internet referral services are out there, but I found that many customers were just not comfortable with trusting someone not local to the state, much less the Triangle, referring contractors to them. I recently had a customer say to me, ‘you can’t talk to Angie, but you can talk to Rachel.’ I loved that! I truly enjoy talking to people about their needs and helping them find the right avenue(s) to get them to their destination. It’s very rewarding.”

An excellent example of Rachel and HOCOA Triangle at work is the recently completed renovation project in the home of Durham native Dudley Robinson and his wife Rosalin.

“When Rosalin and I first started talking about renovating our kitchen and master bath, we weren’t quite sure who to call,” said Dudley. “We built our house in 1992, and we didn’t feel that we needed to go back to the original builder for these updates. Then both Rosalin and I thought of Rachel. We’d met her through a mutual acquaintance and had heard good things about her business. We also knew her building company [M Squared Builders and Designers] was successful. I called our mutual friend and got Rachel’s number. Everything just fell into place from there.”

“HOCOA gave us contact info for two contractors,” Rosalin continued. “Both met with us and gave us estimates. We felt that either of them could do a good job, and their estimates were actually pretty similar, but we felt that one understood our wants a little better than the other, so, we hired him.”

“We liked the fact that HOCOA works only with contractors who are insured,” Dudley interjected. “We also liked that HOCOA called us to follow up along the way – To make sure we’d connected/met with the contractors, to see if we’d selected one of them, and to make sure we were satisfied with the work. We appreciated their diligence.”

Dudley and Rosalin started their renovation project in the kitchen. After selecting granite for countertops, tile for backsplash, and a new sink/faucet, they were pleased with how quickly the old was removed and the new was installed. They were also quite pleased that their HOCOA membership allowed them to purchase the gas range/convection oven they’d already selected at an almost $400 discount beyond the ‘on sale’ price!

Next, work began on the master bath. “Our contractor was extremely helpful in our bath choices,” said Rosalin. “In fact, I give him credit for how wonderful it turned out – He gave us ideas on what could work, without swaying us one way or another. He was terrific – I told him he’s beyond a contractor; he’s an artist! He was also very neat, leaving the work areas clean at the end of each work day. He was a true professional.”

The Robinsons’ master bath was completely gutted, with a variety of tile installed on the floor, around the tub, and in the shower. Again, their HOCOA membership was utilized for discounts; this time for tile accents. For other items, including countertops, sinks, mirrors, fixtures, lighting, and more, the Robinsons utilized contractor pricing.

“We’re very pleased with the quality of the work and with the products,” said Dudley. “HOCOA does the hard part… They find the right people to recommend, and they follow up to make sure the work has been performed to customer satisfaction. We’re very happy with what they did for us, and we will definitely work with HOCOA as future needs arise. It’s a good relationship.”

Incidentally, just after the Robinsons joined HOCOA but before their renovation work began, they awoke one morning to no hot water. They were thankful they knew who to call! And, they were pleased that the HOCOA plumbing contractor gave them good news… They didn’t need to replace their hot water heater; they only needed a new pilot light. It was replaced and hot water was restored the same day. So who ran the gas line for the range, when the time came around, in their newly renovated kitchen? That same HOCOA plumbing contractor, of course!

“HOCOA is designed to alleviate the stress and worry of home maintenance and repair,” summarized Rachel. “We enable homeowners to make one local call to receive qualified, reliable contractors to take care of any problems concerning their homes. We’re thrilled the Robinsons and numerous others have been so happy with our work. We invite you to call us – We’d love to build a relationship with you!”
