Join us downtown on Queen Street and at Market Square for a special commemoration featuring outdoor events and the multimedia lighting of Queen Street as if it was truly on fire once again! Saturday night there will be the outdoor premier of a specially made local video “Niagara on Fire” about the burning of Niagara 200 years ago and the consequences of this horrible event. The evening will also feature fireworks and an extravagant sound and light show projected on the front of the Courthouse! Thousands are expected to meet at Market Square in Old Town to mark this important anniversary. http://www.youtube.com/ Another event not to miss is the 200th Anniversary of the Burning of Newark, on Dec 10, 2013 - at St Mark's Church in Niagara on the Lake. This important commemoration will take place at St. Mark's Church where torches in the graveyard will honour the memory of all those caught up in the horrific events of December 10th, 1813, and all that they lost when Americans burned the Town of Newark (Niagara-on- The event begins with a special commemorative service in the church followed by a bonfire.
