MERRILLVILLE, Ind. - Nov. 14, 2013 - PRLog -- Hyundai fans now know precisely what the 2015 Hyundai Genesis will look like, increasing anticipation ahead of the official unveiling of the next-generation sedan. Combined with the information already released about the upcoming vehicle, these spy shots confirm that Hyundai’s full-size luxury sedan will be a strong contender in its segment.

The 2015 Genesis will have an even more bold, upscale look than its predecessor. Stronger character lines, a bolder grille design, and a few angular, avant-garde details give it a striking presence on the road. No official specifications have been unveiled, but the new model appears to have a longer, sleeker profile than previous models. Bold LED fog and running lights complete the design.

The badging on the spied Genesis sedan indicates that it is powered by a V6 engine – likely the same 3.8L version as the current model – and features Hyundai’s new electronically controlled HTRAC all-wheel drive system. The current Hyundai Genesis sedan is available only in a rear-wheel drive version. The new model will likely carry over the 5.0L V8 engine that is available as an upgrade on the current iteration.

A few new features will also be available on the second-generation model of the Genesis. An automatic trunk opener will be standard equipment on all models. The Genesis accomplishes this by sensing the presence of the key fob near the rear of the vehicle. To utilize this feature, one need only stand behind the car for three seconds, and the trunk will automatically open, thus allowing drivers to open the trunk without fumbling for the keys.

An automatic emergency braking feature triggers either full or partial braking power (depending on vehicle speed) to help avoid frontal collisions. An in-cabin CO2 sensor will help alleviate driver drowsiness by automatically circulating fresh air if the concentration of CO2 in the car reaches sleepiness-causing levels.

No release date for the new 2015 Hyundai Genesis has been released, but it should be arriving at Hyundai dealerships sometime in summer or fall of 2014. Drivers interested in purchasing the Genesis can get more information by contacting their local Merrillville Hyundai dealership.
