ASHBURN, Va. - Nov. 14, 2013 - PRLog -- Ashburn, VA (November 14, 2013). The IJIS Institute—a nonprofit organization that focuses on mission-critical information sharing and safeguarding for justice, public safety, and homeland security—will host the 4th Annual Badge & Tech Benefit & Awards Dinner on Thursday, January 16, 2014, at the Marriott Crystal Gateway in Arlington, Virginia.

Proceeds of the Benefit will go to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF),  a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring the service and sacrifice of America’s law enforcement officers and to promoting officer safety. Previous recipients of the Benefit are The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), Web Wise Kids, and victims of Hurricane Sandy through the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Foundation.

IJIS Institute Executive Director, Steve Ambrosini, said, “Not only is the Benefit an opportunity for our members and practitioners to enjoy a wonderful evening of networking, it is a time for us to support worthy causes, such as the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, so they can continue to honor those officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.” Ambrosini noted, “We are gratified that Craig Floyd will not only represent the Memorial Fund at the Benefit but will provide the evening keynote.”

Craig Floyd is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the NLEOMF. Mr. Floyd helped form the Memorial Fund and has served from the outset as the organization’s CEO. Under his leadership, the NLEOMF was built and dedicated in October 1991. Prior to serving in this capacity, he was a Congressional aide, journalist, and nonprofit leader and has been widely credited with changing America’s attitude toward the law enforcement profession and saving officers’ lives.

The 4th Annual Badge & Tech Benefit & Awards Dinner is being held in conjunction with the IJIS Institute National Symposium (formerly Industry Briefing) on January 15-17, 2014. Tickets are on sale now. You may register for the Symposium or purchase tickets for the Benefit at the IJIS Institute website.
