Metro Property Group Says Giving Back is the Foundation of Success

The Metro Property Group team is a dedicated supporter and contributor to Detroit’s comeback and we strongly believe that to achieve success in your community, your efforts must be evident and visible to the members of the community you operate in.

DETROIT - Nov. 14, 2013 - PRLog -- 5 Ways to Give Back
The experts at Metro Property Group have established five categories of showing your community that you’re equally beneficial to them as they are to you.

Provide Jobs
Nothing says ‘locally-based’ more than providing jobs for the people in your community. If a group of New Yorkers opened a business in California and only hired New Yorkers, it will be a New York company. If your company has more than one location, each location’s employees should be somewhat representative of the area the location is in.
Furthermore, it is important to recognize opportunity for job creation. Even if your company doesn’t currently have a certain position, consider the positive outcomes it may cause if you created that certain position. It is important to train and edify your staff in a fun, interactive manner. Knowledge is power and when you give your staff a chance to better themselves, they will highly appreciate it. Always remember, your company is made up of people so you must reward your employees for their hard work and achievements.

Buy Locally
Whenever you can (and whenever it is cost-effective), consider buying your products from a local retailer (or wholesaler). This gives opportunities to those in the community and helps keep the money within, which can assist in many economic issues, such as unemployment, job security, and job creation. By doing so, you are supporting your community and strengthening their morale.

Grow Within
The hiring experts Metro Property Group have time-and-time again delegated that one of the biggest mistakes companies make is to give newly created (and higher positions) to new hires . This reduces morale of existing employees as they feel that they’re growth opportunities are stagnant. It is essential to the longevity of your business and happiness of your employees to consider your current employees first whenever such an opportunity comes up. They will be much more satisfied if a current employee advances and a new-hire takes their old position. Additionally, promoting a current employee is a much better option because (s)he is already familiar with the company culture, ethics, and standards and you [as the employer] already know the quality of work (s)he will bring. This ensures that the new position is filled with the best-trained candidate. Did we mention that this costs the same as hiring someone new for the higher position? This also ensures that these more important positions are put in the hands of an employee who already understands the company’s work ethic and standards.
Another way to reward those who have worked so diligently to ensure your success is to spread the wealth. There are many ways to reward your employees for their hard work. One of the many ways that Metro Property Group rewards its employees is by providing bonuses and even a complementary Holiday Party towards the end of the year.

Provide Quality Products
Marketing might bring you more foot traffic and increase the number of times the front door opens but nothing ensures the success and longevity of your company like a good quality product. In order to show your community that you genuinely care, make sure the products you are providing is competitive in both price and quality.
Ali Baydoun, Metro Property Group’s chief sales officer shares his input:
“I can’t speak for other industries, but the secret behind our ever-growing success isn’t much of a secret. We make sure that our investors and tenants share the satisfaction of the property they own or rent (respectively). We have become Detroit’s largest residential real estate and property management company by following these simple real estate standards: We only invest in prominent neighborhoods. When selecting neighborhoods, we always study the occupancy status and homeownership rates. This helps us separate the prominent neighborhoods from the declining ones. Once the neighborhood has been decided, we handpick homes with quality construction – built to last. We also factor in the sales history of the property – what were the previous sales prices? This helps us ensure we don’t overpay (and in turn, overcharge). Lastly, we make it a top priority to completely refurbish the home to the highest standard of refurbishment in the region.”

Get Involved
It is important to be an active member of your community. Although a public relations company might reiterate that same information in an attempt to acquire you as a client, there has been a strong correlation between the company’s community involvement and its street reputation. Locals only respect companies who respect them. It is vital to a company’s long-term success to show appreciation and make an effort to get involved. Harry Smith, Metro Property Group’s community liaison reminds readers that “being a part of your community means you’re not just here to benefit from them. Here at Metro Property Group, we make sure to commit to our community by working closely with the Detroit Chamber of Commerce, Detroit Talent Hub, and of course, the Detroit Habitat for Humanity.”
