Wiine.me: The Wine E-Revolution

By: Wiine.me

Nov. 14, 2013 - PRLog -- Wine is dead, long live Wine ! This noble beverage may have been reinvented in terms of marketing, taste and packaging but it has never evolved regarding its consumption.

The Geneva based startup, Wiine.Me (http://www.wiine.me/), offers monthly subscriptions for 3 wine bottles, curated by experts – including a 2 stars Michelin chefs, delivered at home. A new way for beginners and connoisseurs to discover new wines, every month, and learn online, effortless.

Wiine.me enables consumers to avoid the selection pain at supermarkets (71% of wine purchase in Switzerland). But the wine startup also helps them learn the easy way, with its new service launched this month.

Most of Swiss grape varietals are Chasselas, Gamay and Pinoit Noir[1]. However 2000 grape varietals exist in the world. Basically it is like consumers learning about vegetables only with tomatoes and brussel sprouts…

Discovery is good. Learning is even better.

Around 60% of Swiss people drink wine on a weekly basis[2]. But how much attention do we pay to the bottle, the wine story and the taste ?

The co-founders of Wiine.Me (http://www.wiine.me/about-us), Frederic Chenevard and Timothee Bardet, created this online wine subscription service so as to make people learn about wine the easy way, with different themes, every month. The Wiine.Me Box is delivered at home or at the office, like the vegetable baskets or the beauty boxes.

Online, Wiine.Me subscribers can reorder any wine they loved at producer cost, or play with wine online profiles by blind tasting their friends, directly from their mobile. The wine startup is active at the place of consumption.

Wine consumption has changed. New learning ways have emerged.

How many bottles did you buy in specialised wine shops ? How many 6 bottles cases did you purchase in your life ? Wine consumption has changed, and snobbery is outdated, even more amazing, this movement followed the trend of Grand Crus wines dramatic price increase.

The young startup took a bet : basing wine learning and wine knowledge upon monthly discoveries and tastings. Indeed short and efficient online wine courses (tested with groups at several offline wine tastings) are now available for all subscribers.

Discover, Play and Learn are key elements of the Wiine.Me experience. Nothing to read, everything to taste, could describe the Wiine.Me service.
