LANState Pro 7.2 Provides New Features for Network Topology Discovery and Monitoring

Nov. 14, 2013 - PRLog -- 10-Strike Software announces 10-Strike LANState Pro 7.2, a Windows-based network mapper and management utility that allows network administrators and IT engineers to create a visual graphic map of a network and see its state at any moment. LANState Pro monitors network equipment and servers with services running on them. It sends alerts on specific events and failures, and allows the administrators to manage remote hosts directly using the interactive topology map. The product is aimed at network managers and engineers in small and medium-sized enterprises who need good visibility into their network to keep it running with minimal downtime.

The power of LANState Pro lies in its unique abilities to discover all network devices - routers, servers, hosts, printers and produce an easy-to-view pictorial map with node icons, connecting lines, labels, and areas, representing a network topology. By continuously scanning a network, the program detects active and inactive devices, finds new hosts, which are instantly reflected in the network map. This map ensures that the network administrator sees what is happening inside the network in the real time and can respond to critical changes or issues as quickly as they occur. Failure alerts can be sent automatically via SMS or email.

LANState Pro 7.0 has got the Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) support helping to build more accurate network maps after the initial scan. The version 7.2 contains further LLDP algorithm improvements and also supports new Visio 2013 for exporting created network diagrams.

When the program monitors hosts placed on the map, it gathers and records statistics on the results. For example, if the administrator monitors some parameter on a switch via SNMP, he can analyze the parameter´s value changes and create a diagram displaying the parameter´s behavior or the device´s response time graph. The responsible person can find potential bottlenecks, upgrade the network equipment, and prevent real problems in future. LANState Pro 7.2 supports 64-bit SNMP counters which can be helpful for monitoring heavily-loaded systems.

10-Strike LANState Pro contains a built-in web server allowing remote users to connect to the program and see the visual network map. The system administrator can access the web map using a mobile device and check the monitoring stats. The version 7.2 has got some performance improvements for large maps displaying in the web UI.

Available now, 10-Strike LANState Pro 7.2 starts at $249.95. A free 30-day trial is available for downloading at the developers' web site.
