The Bank of Holland Expands Lakeshore Presence with New Grand Haven Office

Nov. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- The full-service community bank is making “great progress” on refurbishing its new location at

111 N. Third Street, according to Lakeshore Market Manager Jim Bishop.  Once the site of a furniture store, the new location is being transformed into a 7,000 square-foot branch that will house a growing team of commercial and consumer lending experts, mortgage professionals and other support staff to meet the bank’s growing needs on the Lakeshore.

After receiving final approval from the FDIC, The Bank of Holland expects to open its new location on Monday, Feb. 17, 2014.  The current branch at 16930 Robbins Road, which opened in January, will close on the preceding Friday.

“We are incredibly pleased to establish a stronger presence on the Lakeshore by opening a new office in downtown Grand Haven,” said Bishop, who began his banking career on the Lakeshore 30 years ago.

“We have a strong and growing base of business clients in this market who value relationship banking, so it made sense for us to establish a presence in the commercial center of this thriving community.

“The Bank of Holland recognizes the importance of having a healthy downtown, which permeates through the entire community.  We want to be a part of that and are committed to being active participants in the communities where we live and work.  This is consistent with the other four communities – Holland, Grand Rapids, Traverse City and Petoskey – where we have a physical presence.”

The new Grand Haven office will also be home to Tom Werkman, senior vice president and Grand Haven market manager, an experienced commercial lender who also started his banking career in Grand Haven.  Rounding out the leadership team is Mindy Smith, business banking officer who has more than 13 years of banking experience in Grand Haven and the Lakeshore.

The new Grand Haven office will feature:

·       Barista-type setting with contemporary furnishings that welcomes clients and makes them feel at home

·       Interior design that promotes teamwork by featuring glass walls for offices and an open floor plan that allows bankers and staff to collaborate

·       The Capture™ Panel System office furniture and Volo™ Moveable Walls, both from Trendway Corp. in Holland.  Capture is an award-winning product that combines a compelling clean, minimalist aesthetic with practical performance.  Volo elements are highly reconfigurable, allowing greater functionality and design flexibility.  All components are manufactured in Holland.
