BEAVERTON, Ore. - Nov. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- Pilgrim students from preschoolers to eighth-graders jogged, walked, and sprinted in this year’s Jogathon fundraiser. The 140 students ran in four, 20-minute events, from a giggling gallop around the gym for the three-year-olds to more serious athletics at the outdoor track for the older students. Pit stops for water and orange slices were available for the runners, with parents and grandparents serving as “pit crews” and the cheering section.

Principal Herold and Jogathon Coach Sue Hergert ran along with the kids. At the final event, after being lapped multiple times, Principal Herold even posed a good-natured race challenge to the speediest middle schoolers, as each vied for the “finish line.”

This fourth annual Jogathon will provide funds for improving Pilgrims programs, including:

·  repairs to the sound system in the gym

·  sports equipment and uniforms

·  art literacy

·  technology tools like iPads

·  classroom educational tools like digital projectors

·  a part-time PE teacher for the lower grades!
