Nov. 12, 2013 - PRLog -- The Giving Net, a nonprofit organization based in Little Rock, AR, is screening their original film, The Harlem Renaissance: Literature that Sparked a Movement, Thursday, November 14th, from 5:30-6:30 at the Hillary Rodham Clinton Children's Library and Learning Center in Little Rock.

This event is being held in conjunction with Pi Omicron, Pi Sigma and Pi Kappa Chapters of Omega Psi Phi's Achievement Week. Achievement Week recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions toward improving the quality of life for African Americans.

"The men of Omega Psi Phi asked if we could partner on an event that focuses on art and social change,” Andrea Price, Executive Director of the Giving Net, said. "So, our team decided to produce a short film on the role of literature as a tool for social change during the Harlem Renaissance."

The film highlights the history of Harlem, prominent figures in the movement and the significance of the literature produced during the Harlem Renaissance.

The event is free and open to the public. To RSVP for this event, call 517-335-7456.
