People in the region have been given the chance to win a £200 donation to a charity of their choice.

WeBuyDvds’s, one the region’s fastest growing businesses, have been fundraising with the backing of celebrities to raise thousands of pounds for Children In Need. In addition to this, people also have the chance to win donation for a charity close to their heart.

Jeff Brown, who is a Sports Correspondent and Presenter on BBC Look North, has given his time to help the fundraiser, which teams up with companies across the region in getting employees to donate unwanted DVDs, CDs and Games.

These donated items will then be bought at a premium rate by WeBuyDvds.co.uk, with all money being donated to Children In Need.

Jeff joins Gary Hollywood, who stars as “Dino” in the hit show Mrs Brown’s Boys and Eurovision star Nicki French in pledging support to the fundraiser, which helps people across the region give money to the charity without spending money in this tough financial climate.

People from Sunderland and Newcastle will also be given the chance to donate their DVDs, CDs and games with the help of national self-storage firm Safestore, who have provided 3 drop off points across the North East.

WeBuyDvds.co.uk is a growing business and was founded in 2008, operating out of Colima Ave, Sunderland.  Safestore has over 100 stores nationwide and has designated the Sunderland Store, Newcastle Wallsend Store and Newcastle Central Store to be drop off points for unwanted DVDs, CDs and games.

In 2012 Children in need raised an estimated £26 million for good causes through its telethon and aims to increase that figure in 2013.
