The Skin You’re In, Inc., has partnered with SEED OF HOPE FOUNDATION

WESTCHESTER, Ill. - Nov. 11, 2013 - PRLog -- The Skin You’re In, Inc., a local health & wellness spa located in Aurora, IL has partnered with Seed of Hope Foundation to offer skin services to participants who complete the Life 101: Building a Foundation Curriculum at Seed of Hope Foundation.

In a recent survey by Teen People magazine, 27% of the girls felt that the media pressures them to have a perfect body.  In another survey, 47% of girls in 5th-12th grade reported wanting to lose weight because of magazine pictures and that 69% of girls in 5th-12th grade reported that magazine pictures influenced their idea of a perfect body shape (ANAD).

Empowering young women is more important now than ever before because it affects their ability to cope with social and emotional issues.  In the Life 101: Building a Foundation program at Seed of Hope Foundation, teenage girls are challenged to discover their unique OK2B factor and are given the freedom, resources, and support to become emotionally intelligent leaders through personal and leadership development life skill activities.

The Skin You’re In, Inc. whose core values include respect life, honor the individual, treat with kindness, and know the science, has partnered with us to promote the importance of caring and valuing yourself as a unique individual and giving teen girls a holistic view of self-care.  We are so grateful to have the owner Cathy India, RN, M.S. Ed., LE working with us on this important element of self-esteem for teenage girls.
